Your Voice Matters!

There are four ways you can get involved with our patient advisory work! Participation is inclusive & open to all Kootenay Boundary citizens.

1. Subscribe to our newsletter & stay connected.

The PACC newsletter is a publication aimed at keeping our community, partners, and supporters informed and engaged in our work. It highlights PACC activities, milestones, and opportunities to learn more + get involved.

2. Join our community & provide input on health care topics.

We’ll connect you with opportunities to provide input on health care issues that come our way. The issues may be general or they may relate to a specific health condition or health care experience. We hope to engage you virtually – through surveys, emails and other means. Let us know if there are specific aspects of health care where you have lived experience or would most like to provide input!

3. Become a committee member!

You’ll be part of a group of passionate volunteer citizens committed to meeting regularly (for two hours about 8-10 times a year) to help make a difference in health care in our region.

Meetings include presentations and requests for feedback from health care partners, discussions on key questions about health care reform, decisions to advance our strategic plan, and learning about current and upcoming health care initiatives. In between meetings, members may receive requests for input by email or phone.

We partner with the BC Patient Voices Network (PVN) to support committee recruitment. This means that by joining our committee, you’ll also become a member of PVN. You’ll receive an orientation to patient engagement and ongoing support.

Interested in becoming a committee member? Reach out to us! We’d love to provide additional details and answer your questions: pacc@kbdivision.ca.

4. Get connected to the BC Patient Voices Network.

The Patient Voices Network (PVN) is a province-wide community of patients, families, and caregivers working together with health care partners to improve BC’s health care system. PVN offers resources, training opportunities, and a wide network of connections + opportunities for people who want to be actively involved as patient partners in BC health care. Click the link below to visit the PVN website for more information, to sign up as a patient partner, and get involved with other engagement opportunities across the province.
